Privacy policy

Minibyte processes everything on your device. This page explains precisely what that means.

01

The short version

Minibyte does not collect, transmit, or share anything. It has no account system, no analytics, and no advertising. Your photos never leave your iPhone.

02

What the app accesses

With your permission, Minibyte reads your photo library to measure file sizes, find duplicates, and re-encode the items you select. It also reads how full your device's storage is, so it can show you that number on the home screen.

03

Where processing happens

All analysis and compression runs on this device using Apple's own frameworks — Photos, Vision, Image I/O, and AVFoundation. No image, video, thumbnail, or fingerprint is ever uploaded.

04

What is stored

A record of each operation (date, media type, sizes before and after) is kept on your device so you can see your history. Compressed files are written to a temporary folder and cleared automatically. Deleting the app removes all of it.

05

Deleting photos

Minibyte never deletes anything silently. Every deletion goes through iOS's own confirmation prompt, and deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can restore them.

06

Third parties

There are none. Minibyte includes no third-party SDKs and makes no network requests.

07

Children

Minibyte collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
